• Don't let anxiety stand in the way of your life

Are you often so overwhelmed with anxiety that you feel stuck and can’t seem to move forward with your life? Do you worry excessively about things that others don’t seem overly concerned about? Do you sometimes find yourself so consumed with a sense of panic or dread that you avoid situations or activities that you know shouldn’t be a problem for you to engage in?

If any of the above sounds familiar to you, I can help.

As a therapist with expertise in treating clients struggling with anxiety in all of its forms, I can assist you in pinpointing important connections between your uncomfortable feelings and associated physical sensations and specific thoughts you may be having. We’ll also look together at how your thoughts and feelings sometimes lead you to behave in ways that end up interfering with your chances of feeling better. You’ll learn tools and strategies to help you cope more effectively with the difficulties you’re facing, so that you can finally get back to living the life that you want to live.

Our sessions will be interactive and collaborative, as we work toward treatment goals that you and I have come up with together. You might be surprised to find my easygoing and inquisitive style quite different from the stereotypical aloof therapists that you often see on TV and in movies.

I know there are a lot of therapists out there, and that means a lot of websites to wade through in the hopes of finding one who is a great fit for you. So I appreciate your taking the time to learn about me.

My name is Dr. Richard Morhaime. I’m a California native – I grew up in the San Fernando Valley – and I’ve been a licensed psychologist for over 20 years. I’m also proud to be a certified diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies. That means that I have legitimate expertise in cognitive therapy (also known as CBT). I have offices in Newport Beach and Long Beach, but I see most of my clients remotely, since it enables people to connect with me from all over California.

Please feel free to navigate around the site to learn more about me and the type of work I do. Then, when you’re ready to take the next step, just put your name and number on the contact form (which you’ll find strategically located throughout the site); so we can schedule a phone consult to discuss how I might be able to help you.

    About Me:

I am a licensed psychologist and certified cognitive therapist, and I specialize in helping teens and young adults who are struggling with anxiety and/or depression. I also have expertise in working with international expats and others who have relocated to new cities far from home, having known firsthand how emotionally challenging such a major life transition can be.

I combine a warm interpersonal style with evidence-based strategies to help my clients better manage the challenges they’re facing, so they have the tools they need to live happier, more meaningful lives.
